Application Fields

Choose your final system, in which the pigment concentrate will be used:

Definitions:

The pigment concentrate concept improves the manufacture of pigmented coatings/paints through the use of an integrated, single range of highly pigmented, low resin content or resin-free pigment concentrates. Pigment concentrates are formulated to be compatible with the major resins used to manufacture industrial and trade sales coatings, while meeting the specific requirements of paint end-users.

Tinting pastes are pigment concentrates used to adjust the shade of an already complete paint formulation. The amount of additive is a maximum of 5-10% of the total formulation, and the possible impact or influence of the concentrate on the final quality of the tinted paint is therefore relatively low.

Full mixing systems are based on pigment concentrates suitable for producing complete paints by mixing with clear or pigmented (White, yellow, ... etc) base paints.  Around 20-25% of these concentrates have to be added to the base paints. Therefore the quality of the concentrates must be much higher than that of the tinting systems because they have a much stronger impact or influence on the final quality of the tinted base paints.

Advantages of using the pigment concentrate concept:

Pigment concentrates offer the following advantages:

  • Consistent colour development / no flocculation

  • Considerably lower resin content or no resin at all

  • Significantly low viscosity, thus easily pumpable

This leads to the following benefits for the end-users:

  • No flooding or floating and minimal influence on the quality of the finished paints

  • Application in a wide range of resin systems and solvents due to excellent compatibility of the concentrates

  • Complete suitability for today's modern computerized tinting systems, which provide fast economical manufacture and supply, as well as efficient small order production
